17:21….Rx weight and reps…but ROM issues..redid some reps but probably others not up to full ROM. No more than two breaks during sets.
Great to see the 530 team in full force – Great Job!

14:23 with 55# for the first 7 snatches and first 8 push presses then shed to 45#…1pd KB…4 45# plates for BJs. Did the pack (10-20-30-40)

16:37
Rx Weight(65#, 1pood) and height (16″)
Pack reps (10,20,30,40)
Only 1 break per set – though my box jumps were butt-ugly-slow and running was even-uglier-slow.
Really excited I managed to do all reps of the Rx weight.

Nice work Wendy!

Now that PCF has been featured in Testosterone Nation, it is probably best to just shut the doors now. I don’t know where we can go from here but it seems like the only option is down.
Hey, we had a good run.

To all those who know and love Vegas Mike (or at least have heard of the legend)…
He will be in attendance for the 6 pm wod at Eleventh this Friday. He’s already promised to “break in” the new waitresses. So prepare for a good dose of Stella and accept that your wives and girlfriends will be ogled, harassed and loved on by a true Clydesdale of a man.
It’s always a good time with Vegas, so hope to see y’all then

15:54 RX+ (75# Snatch and PP, 20″ BJ)
I was able to run all 4 rounds pretty well. I remember Erika and I posting last fall things like, “the construction guy walking down the sidewalk was going faster than me.” I was definitely faster than all the construction workers today.

20:43 at Rx’d weights and reps. Form – not so good.
Breaks during lifting sets were 2, 3, 3. Box jumps slow but steady. The runs ate up the most time.

KC – From the ashes of defeat rises victory, at last, Potomac Zoomba is a reality.

17:57 – 65 lbs Power Snatches and Push Presses, 10 KBs at 35 lbs, 30 at 25 lbs. I need to continue to work on my form.

If you’ve ever wondered where the name Spidermonkey came from, you should be there at the Friday 6 p.m. WOD at Eleventh. These sessions are the stuff legends are made of (and by that I mean Clydesdales).

The scuba diver in the picture looks angry.
August 24th, 2010 on 1:00 pm
Zack, He’s angry because the camera man clearly missed the shot of his underwater handstand.
August 24th, 2010 on 1:07 pm
Dan S – watched you gut out that WOD. Awesome performance this morning.

Since we’ve been talking about wheat prices, I thought I’d share this gem. My baby brother was on Bloomberg yesterday. Only 13 months younger than me…

Booooo Bloomberg…No place for me to flame on gluten on their website.
August 24th, 2010 on 4:36 pm
Great photos Steve!
August 24th, 2010 on 4:42 pm
Brian, did you notice the end about protein prices going up? Not sure that applies for meat that isn’t fed grain, but something to watch.
August 24th, 2010 on 4:58 pm
Hey guys, hope all is well. Speaking of gluten, read this today before class in the Wall Street Journal:
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703846604575447413874799110.html?KEYWORDS=gluten
This is the second feature I’ve seen on gluten free dieting, celiac disease, and gluten sensitivity (the other was on the Today Show like two weeks ago). I’ll let Brian thrash it, but just notice how they assume people will continue to eat food that isn’t “real” (i.e. naturally occurring food that we can get loads of vitamins and minerals from). Bottom line is they address what you eat and not how or why you eat something.
Peace.

Jen scaled up so I had to, also
rx’d+ (75# snatch and push press, 20 in box): 16:27. Was moving along and should have had sub 16 but calves were killing me and I had to take more breaks on my box jumps than I should have.
August 24th, 2010 on 6:28 pm
13:22 Rx’d. That was fun/tough. My lower back is mangry at Aaron PCF right now.

Nice work Paul. He got the BJs unbroken (aka ‘Rich S. Style BJ’s') and smoked me.

That was a fun race. Both heats put out great efforts.
Good race Brian. Fun times. I would like to that Rich S. for teaching me BJs for speed.

RX’d- 17:50
Hamstring is still not 100%, but it should be fine in another week or so.
Glad to be back.
August 24th, 2010 on 7:50 pm
15:02 as rx’d. I’m getting much better at my BJ’s.
August 24th, 2010 on 7:58 pm
15:53 Rx’d.
Not bad today. Getting better after a week or two of just feeling tired and out of it. I can really speak to how important it is to take an easy week once in a while and really take a week off every so often (couple of months)
Runs weren’t bad…but not great. The truffle shuffle was alive on the third and fourth 400. Not a bad job on the snatches..and my push press was solid (15-15). KBs were not so good (broken out to 4 sets). BJs were 3 sets.
August 24th, 2010 on 8:08 pm
Zack: My face was numb, what would you expect? Alternatively: It’s me, what would you expect?
16:06, rx’d
That went really well until the last round took me five minutes.
August 24th, 2010 on 8:13 pm
18:38 Rx’d – Thank you to Caitlin for making me go Rx’d!!!
August 24th, 2010 on 8:19 pm
17:50 on the pack workout. Thought about trying RX but when I got to about 12 or 13 snatches, I realized I didn’t have it. Dropped the bar and started running…
August 24th, 2010 on 8:23 pm
13:36 Pack
Did less reps with higher intensity
August 24th, 2010 on 8:30 pm
18:22 rx’d.
August 24th, 2010 on 8:47 pm
17:36, rx’d weights/reps but I’m sure I didn’t get my head through on some of the push presses, which even Guch pointed out so it must have been bad
August 24th, 2010 on 9:04 pm
17:42 rx’d. Ugh.
August 24th, 2010 on 9:29 pm
20:56 rx’d. My running remains brutal. Everything else in this workout went pretty well, which just reinforces how awful I am at running.
August 24th, 2010 on 9:49 pm
14:12 rx.
August 24th, 2010 on 9:54 pm
17:43 rx’d
Runs were slow… I tell you, running with tree trunks for legs are no fun. Power snatches were okay – quick sets of 5. Push presses were all kinds of disaster. KB swings in three sets – okay. BJs in three sets – made up some ground there.
One thing is for sure – 20″ BJs are so much easier than 24″ BJs.
August 25th, 2010 on 8:13 am
17:44, snatches at 55lbs, everything else rx’d
phew that was pretty intense…last run was pretty miserable, but i think my first three were faster than normal
getting excited for the women’s shake weight challenge!
