For all the hopper fanatics yesterday, Crossfit BWI gave me the low down on the reg process. The website http://www.midatlantichopper.com will be up by the end of the month and then we can register on there…

  2. Ana Isabel

    Weird link….

  3. Emma

This one looks great. It is my mission to make it to a WOD. Either the 7 or the 8. Make sure you hold your breath Dan.

  4. Jenn Jett

I’m headed to the 7 pm WOD for this one…Emma, I haven’t seen you in a long time :) Always thankful for the time you helped me finish a WOD by doing my last set of squats with me!

What if we can’t do double unders yet?

  5. Chris Wiz

Any suggestions from the peanut gallery on taking care of a touch of tendonitis in my knee? It’s fine when warming up but gets stiff and sore overnight. I have no known knee injuries.

Right now I’m icing it religiously and taking ibuprofin for swelling (although swelling is only very minor).
    Thanks!

  6. Brian PCF

I’ll obviously be DJing the 1-year anniversary.

  7. Laura G

The foam roller helped me a ton with tendonitis this past winter. I also laid off of the box jumps and squats for a couple weeks.

  8. alli

Time: 4.5 hours from first contraction to BEAUTIFUL little girl! Mama Drea proved her mettle by delivering (sans drugs!) before the doctor even arrived. Our girl’s amazing!!

  9. Sheila Catron

Oh wow Alli. I am so happy for Drea. 4 hours is amazing. And NO meds – WOW. She is certainly my new hero. Thanks for sharing the info.

  10. Chef

What a joy it is to wake up to that news!! (Brian, I am sorry, but I’m not referring to your choice of DJ for the soiree).

No matter what direction you have chosen for your life, no matter the intensity of your focus and the sureness of your quest, all things pale in comparison when your family grows by one. Only one thing in the human experience can compare to the sudden awareness of your own capacity for love when you become a parent: the overriding joy of being loved by your child.

    Mazeltov to you three!

  11. Paul

congrats to drea and siddarth. Great to hear all are doing well.

In for the 1 year anniversary party…

  12. Emma

    Most beautiful picture ever!!!!

Jenn Jett (that might be the coolest name I’ve ever heard),

I will surely be there tonight. AND I will be aiming for the 7 pm so that we can reunite. Blame my job for my absence as of late (and find me a new one).

  13. MikePCF / Boston Mike

    Congrats Drea and Siddarth!!!

  14. Melanie

Congrats to Drea and Siddarth! I can’t wait to see tons of adorable baby pictures!!!

  15. jess

Congratulations Drea and Siddharth…happy to hear Sawkar-Nanini team is doing well!!!

  16. Emilee

CONGRATS! So happy for all of you and glad everyone is doing well. Can’t wait to meet the little one.

  17. Bryce

Congrats Drea and Siddharth on the new baby girl!!!

  18. Alison

GO DREA! congratulations to the new parents — we love you guys. so excited for you.

  19. Susan

    Mazel Tov!

Can we ask now what the baby’s name is?

  20. Brian PCF

Who knew that someecards.com had a whole baby section:

    http://www.someecards.com/baby-cards/newest

Siddharth/Drea – just pick your favorite one out of there and that’s the one I would have sent.

    Congrats!!

  21. Steve S

Congrats Drea and Siddarth and impressive performance by Drea. My sister just had a baby and was going to go “natural” until about an hour after going into labor. That’s quite a feat to pull off – I’m sure all the extra strength training didn’t hurt.

  22. Sally

Congrats Siddharth and Drea!! WOOOO!! :)

  23. Brian S

    Congrats Drea and Siddarth !!
Hope it goes that well for us.

    302 i think Damn DU’s

  24. Jon M

    Congrats to the new parents.

I’d recommend starting the new girl off on 4 blocks a day. Make sure she is drinking plenty of fluids. If she isn’t losing that tough baby fat within a week or two, I’d cut the carbs in half. She’ll have more pullups and lower BF than Brian in no time.

  25. John F

Congratulations to Drea and Siddarth! Parenthood is a great adventure.

    88 ,75, 65, 66, 61

File this workout in the “harder than it looks” category.

  26. Dave C

    Congrats to the new parents!!!

    249 with a 20″ box, 40lb KB swing and 5x single unders

Katie and I are in for the party!

  27. Rich S.

    Congrats Drea and Siddharth!

  28. Seamus

I heard that the baby already has more hair on her head than Brian. Congratulations folks. I’m wondering if they make Vibram Five Fingers in infant sizes.

To those who have done and plan to do today’s WOD:

foam roll foam roll foam roll

And when you’re finished. Foam Roll some more. This is going to tire your lower back. For this WOD, you’ll make your money on the double unders

  29. Lindsey

Congrats! What a beautiful picture, i can feel the happiness!

  30. Jamie

    Congrats to Drea and Siddharth!

    345 RX’d – DNF last round of DU’s -

I plan to attend the party.

  31. Vaughn

Congratulations Drea and Siddharth! Drea you ROCK and can add birthing skills to the list…

I am sure Baby Nanini will think a pacifier is a kettlebell just her size…

  32. Ana Isabel

Congrats to Drea and Siddharth !!!!

  33. Chris Wiz

Congratulations to Mom, Dad, and Baby!

  34. Erika - PCF

Our Drea was a real champ in the delivery room this morning – all went exceptionally well and she really rocked that whole labor thing. Little Nehla already has a killer grip….we tried to get her to knock out her first pullup immediately following her first bath, but the nurses weren’t having it. She was 6 lbs 10.9 oz and 19 inches long. Drea, Nehla and Siddharth are all doing great.

  35. Kevin

    Congrats Drea and Siddharth!!

  36. DF Pete

What an amazing picture that really tells the story. Congrats to both of you. Little Nehla will be kicking ass in no time! You both must be so proud…and why not, what a beautiful little life you get to love, enjoy, and occassionally clean up after :) for years to come!

  37. Brad G

Congrats Drea and Siddharth, glad to hear went well

I’ll be at the 1 year anniversary

  38. Kassi

Congratulations Drea and Siddharth! I’m so excited!

  39. Rick B

Best pic I saw on this site in awhile. Congrats Drea and Siddharth !!

Will Baby CrossFit be the next offering at PCF?

  40. Kat

Congrats Drea and Siddharth! I feel bad for the man that tries to ask out your daughter! He’ll see the “guns” on both the parents and be intimidated!!! Enjoy your new baby girl!!

  41. Kassi

Interesting article (click name,) looks like Runner’s World could possibly be admitting that workouts similar to those in CFE work better than their traditional ones.

Got the link from the running group I’m supposed to be running with for the Marine Corps Marathon… haven’t gone to a single run yet, but may show up to put them all to shame for this one :)

  42. Lynette

    Congrats, Drea and Siddharth!

[If she does a kipping pullup before me, I'm going to have to kick her butt.]

  43. Brian PCF

Just bought some more bands guys:

    http://www.jumpstretch.com/osc/catalog/index.php?cPath=21&osCsid=6113539f01cc3f8a2546229994d1453d

Bought a bunch of the monster mini’s, mini’s, and micros. Hopefully these won’t snap and kill people like the last ones we bought…

  44. Dave O

    Congratulations Drea and Siddharth!
Welcome to the no sleep parenting club!!!
Please let me know if you need anything.

  45. Aaron - PCF

Kassi, The Yasso 800′s are a great workout for long distance runners. They’re really only accurate for people who already have a decent endurance base, so if you are capable of running for 3-4 hours, then this will be a good measure of how fast you can do it.

Much better to do this then to go out for 60-90 minute jog on your non-long run, non-interval day. Marathoners really do have some good workouts, its just that most people don’t train like real marathoners they train like joggers. And if they do train like marathoners they pack a lot of meaningless miles around the important parts (long run, interval, tempo being the important parts), when they should be using that time to get stronger and spare muscle mass.

  46. Erin B.

    Yeah Drea & Siddharth!!
Welcome to the world baby Nehla. I can’t wait to meet you.

  47. Aaron K.

    Congratulations Drea and Siddharth!

  48. PCF Drea

Thanks for all of the sweet words you guys!!! We can’t wait for her to meet her PCF Family! :-) it was an awesome experience to say the least and I couldn’t have been more efficient…dude, I can’t imagine doing that for HOURS!! Thank you CrossFit! :-)

I am so proud of my girls, Siddharth and (of course) little Nehla!

  49. Erin B.

Would anyone like my spot in this Sunday’s Power Lifting Seminar with Aaron? I hate to miss it but am flying to Fresno, CA for work on Monday.

Shoot me an email at ebongard14 at gmail dot com if you are interested.

  50. Rich S.

Fried from today’s WOD….525 as rx’d.. thank goodness for double-unders.

Nice work to Seamus and Rick P. putting up monster numbers (700 and 565 respectively)..

    Scott Q…nice try.

  51. Ryan P

    Congrats Drea and Siddharth!

  52. Sally

Just a reminder that this Saturday, July 25th is the PCF BBQ at Quincy Park, located at Washington Boulevard and North Quincy Street. (The grills and picnic tables are on the opposite side of the park, off of North Nelson Street) Start time is 3pm. We will be running it like the PCF movie premier… “BYOE” or Bring Your Own Everything! There are soccer fields, beach volleyball, softball, and basketball courts at the park – along with a playground that has monkey bars in case you need to get a few rounds of pullups in between burgers. Feel free to bring frisbees, footballs, bocce ball, water balloons, etc.

Picnic tables and grills are provided at the park. Paper products, utensils, grill stuff, and cups will be available for everyone to use, BUT please bring a snack to share in addition to whatever you plan to grill. We know how much everyone likes to eat – and more is always better!

Lastly, please remember that this is a public park so your beverage of choice must be in a cup or discreet container. And of course, ALL are welcome – bring your friends and significant others!

Please let me or LeeAnn know if you have any questions! Hope to see ya’ll there! :)

  53. Elisse

Congrats! I can’t wait to meet her…let me know if she needs a ski coach…

  54. Rick P.

    565 as Rx’d

  55. Lynette

Boo. I so hate to miss the BBQ, esp. since it is stumbling distance from my house! But, I’m camping this weekend. Have a weiner (no bun, please) and a drink or 3 for me!

  56. Zack

Congratulations Drea and Siddharth! Drea, just remember to take it slow. Wait a few months, and then attempt slow walking.

  57. Laura B

Congrats Drea and Siddharth!! Welcome to the world Nehla!!!

I will be at the anniversary party (if work schedule allows). Wish i could make it this Saturday to the BBQ, but work gets in the way of life again. :)

  58. Justin H

    Congratulations Drea and Siddharth!

    Can’t wait to meet Nehla.

  59. Aviv

    Congrats Drea and Siddharth

  60. Rupert

Congratulations to both Drea and Siddharth!

    Drea and Siddharth -

    Congrats!

    As for today’s WOD…

    DUs are horrific as usual.

  62. Abi

    Congratulations Drea & Siddharth !!

Not sure of the language of origin or the meaning of the name, but its a pretty cool and unique :)

  63. Bryan M.

    Congrats Drea and Siddarth!!!

  64. Chad

Everyone put away your kitchen scales and measuring cups and pick up some doughnuts! The glucagon pill is on it’s way.

Pretty soon everyone will be able to peel off bodyfat just like people who are zoning. I’m going to go ahead and guess that – despite having a glucagon pill and less bodyfat – if you eat the same way obese people eat, you will still die (skinnier) of the same diseases.

click on my name for the article. sorry if this is old news to some of you.

  65. Emma

How about all of the people who haven’t bothered to upload gratar pictures GET ON THAT?!?!?

  66. Emma

And by gratar I mean gravatar.

  67. Alison

    Emma:

Everything I do, I do it for you.

  68. Emma

Nice. Now people will surely recognize you at the box.

  69. Alison

I think my meat-dealing habits are forcing people to refer to me as “that girl with the cooler” anyway.

  70. Laura P.

    454- Rx’d
    Congrats on the little one!!

  71. Chris K

Drea & Siddharth: Congratulations on your little Crossfitling.

  72. Scott Q.

    Congrats Drea and Siddarth!!!

301 as Rxd. I fing hate double unders. I also now have jump rope whip marks across my whole upper torso. great wod, really great.

Rich S. – I concede that three days in a row you have whopped up on me in the WOD. My ego is at an all time low knowing that i am being beat by a person who cant grow hair on his chest. I need to get my sh&t straight, this is just embarrassing.

Tes – thanks for the help with the double unders!!! I still hate em.

  73. Mary Ellen

Ok this calls for my first post ever on this site. CONGRATULATIONS Drea and Siddharth!!! We’re very excited for you. So, ummm, is the CSA box big enough for 3? You might have to fight over the tomatoes. And for the record if Nehla can do double unders before me I’m going to be really mad!

  74. TrickyDick

    Congrats Siddharth and Drea!

  75. Wendy

Congratulations Drea and Siddharth! May she grow to be healthy and strong, just like her parents.

Great effort at the 5pm. I am still reeling from this one.

  78. Kari

I think my count was on the high side. 25lb kb and a mix of 5:1 singles and double unders here and there. I counted 330, but I’m not sure…it was hard to keep track of the whole 5:1su/du mix so I would say closer to 315-ish.

Nice work, Mike! Double what I did. Everyone did a really awesome job!!

  84. Mike C

    And congrats Drea and Siddarth.

    And Aviv is a dbag

    Congrats Siddharth and Drea!!!!

  86. Carolyn

    Congratulations Drea and Siddarth!!!!!

  89. Susan

Once again congrats Drea and Siddharth – that baby is cute.

  94. Dave

I estimated my score at 350 RX’d as I have only managed to count one round and even then it was a guess.

The first two rounds could not have been less enjoyable.

And of course, Congrats to the Drea and Siddharth

  96. Jenn Jett

I cannot do double unders :( I didn’t count any of my singles on the last 3 rounds towards my numbers…so, this is all box jumps and kettle bell swings=168.

I need to practice my double unders…will I EVER get there?

  97. Jenn Jett

By the way…Congrats to Drea and Siddarth…Drea makes even me believe that when the day comes to have a baby, it CAN be done sans drugs!!! And I’m a nurse anesthetist=pro epidural ;) Put many in laboring moms and watched the wonders it did for them.

  98. Erin B.

    Total: 240
2 double unders. Lots of singles (although I didn’t count those).

Between yesterday and today I seriously doubt my ability to walk tomorrow…

  99. JimmyG

    460 rx’d.

    Horray for Baby!!!

  100. jkett

    Double unders sucked. 271 rxd.

  101. Erika - PCF

As if I needed a reminder that I suck at double unders….324 or something, as rx’d. I’m blaming my suckage at the fact that I am running on 2hrs of sleep cause I was up all night (and then went to work, cause D was so awesome that she popped the baby out in way less time than we anticipated) watching a beautiful little girl come into the world…..and it was TOTALLY worth it.

  102. Brandon B

348 (35# KB – body still hurting from this weekends WODs)…

Vaughn, thanks for the Zone spreadsheet. Going on 2 days of weigh/measure and recording…

  103. Brandon B

    And Congrats Siddharth and Drea!!!!

  104. Tes

407 or something like that. My legs are FriEd! That’s what I get for doing 2-a-days

Congratulations to Drea and Siddharth! Can’t wait to meet her. See you guys soon!

  105. ida

I think this might be a PCF posting record today. People (like me) coming out of the woodwork…You’d think someone gave birth or something….

Congrats Drea and Siddharth. Well done!

Bummed I’ll miss the bbq this weekend (racing my first triathlon – olympic distance), and just as bummed I’ll miss the year anniversary of PCF in August (second tri in Luray, for good measure).

I guess that means I should try to see folks by showing up for WODs. I think in August my goal will be:
    31 days
AMWAP (as many wods as possible)

  106. Chris Wiz

225, with a total of maybe 10 DUs. I did manage to string two together at one point. I missed the third due to my surprised reaction…

  112. Kevin

  113. Sally

    Awesome work Emma!!

  114. Dan S

Congratulations to Drea and Siddharth for bringing little Nehla into the world.

199 reps for the WOD, a number which includes 8 double-unders (2,0,0,1,5). Box jumps for first three rounds, then step-ups. 1.5 pood KB for first three rounds, then 1 pood.

  115. Lynette

    310, with 25lb KB.

Very few of these were double unders.

  116. Emma

Thanks Sally! I learn from the master :)

    Congratulations Drea and Siddarth!

  118. julie m

Congratulations Drea and Siddharth!!!! Such a beautiful family!

  119. Gayle Bottolfson

I reckon finding a decent one from the wide range of CNA schools out there is probably the hardest part of it. Other than that, stick with it and you will see the light at the end soon enough. It is hard work though, and not for the feint hearted!
