    I had two workouts today:

    1) Listened to High Maintenance bitch and complain for time: As Rx’d- 1 hour. Might have been the toughtest WOD to date!!

    2) Freddy’s Revenge: 6:43 or close to that as Rx’d…Need to put more effort into perfecting the PJ form/technique…

    Only kidding High Maintenance…

    Shoulders were dead from yesterdays Thrusters.

    You could have measured my time with a sundial, but I was pleased to be able to do this one as rx’d. 125# is pretty heavy for me on jerks, since my one rep max is currently about 145#. It was good for me to work these into a metcon though, and good practice for the games since heavier weights is where I am going to make my money.

    My shoulders are going to HATE me tomorrow.

    Yikes… guess I wasn’t feeling overhead stuff today. This does marks two straight days where there is a burpee-overhead lifting WOD – so needless to say my shoulders are not happy.

    This workout was pretty humbling because it highlighted that my push jerk form sucks. As a point of comparison, here are the times posted on the Crossfit Journal video of this WOD. All did 185 lbs.

    Ian, just got to work on staying on your heels. Good explosiveness and good job getting under the bar, that was the issue.

    I did this today at 155 lbs: 9:39

    This is really weird, because I did this from the rack but I did it from the floor last time in 7:34 on 090110.

    I’m going to chalk this up to just not pacing this well, still getting over the flu, and the WOD yesterday. I could come up with some more bullshit excuses, but that’s all I have off the top of my head :)

    So I approached this from the outset as basically a PJ workout with some burpees in between. Consequently, I went heavier than I normally would have and did this RXd, but took way to long to complete. Time: 20:03.

    [...] Why Paleo Cookies Suck reason #3 – even healthy cookies still aren’t that good for you.  Broken down to Zone blocks, one cookie yields the following: 1p, 2c, 11f.  Yes, 11 fat for 1 cookie – adds up quickly when the chief ingredient is almond flour.  All in all it was a fun little paleo experiment – learned a lot about paleo ingredients – and where NOT to buy them.  I’m willing to bet these things would last as long as twinkies in a sealed bag, def time capsule worthy.  I’m going to continue trying new paleo recipes every weekend.  Next up – primal pizza as seen on PCF.
