Watching Sweden choke in the Curling Gold Medal Match is terrible.
Blame Canada!
February 26th, 2010 on 8:40 pm
I saw Jimi Letchford of CrossFit Laguna Beach and another top CF HQ trainer do this WOD on a video. This is going to be good!
February 26th, 2010 on 8:44 pm
Fight Gone Bad used to be my favorite WOD; this may change that.

Eat your words Dave. Canada losing 3 points in the last 2 ends? Crazy. Only in the gold medal match.

Great WOD today. 287 Rx’d compared to 239 in Aug for regular FGB. Not sure which format is harder.
Great times last night at Fogo de Chao – a paleo paradise.
Sharee(?), check out http://www.crossfitendurance.com/ for tri-training.

This wod was painful- I lost count about 100 times but pretty sure it was 246. with 35# bar and 12# wall ball.

Thanks Mike PCF for the help on box jumps.

I wish I was good at BJs like BWilks!

210 Rx’d
You have no idea how happy it makes me to be able to say Rx’d!!
Last time we did regular FGB, I got 216, but I scaled pretty heavily. I consider this a huge step forward.
Yet another confirmation that paleo + CrossFit really works!
Good job corralling the chaos at 1100, Ryan and Siddharth.

264 rx’d. That was rough. Started on the row and never quite recovered. Felt like puking Fogo the whole time.

Great job 9am

Wish I was there to participate. I’m having to run up and down the stairs at altitude here… whew!
February 27th, 2010 on 1:12 pm
God I loved that WOD–lost count on push presses about the 3rd or 4th set. Think it was somewhere around 210. I’m just not talented enough to count and do something that is extremely exhausting.

great job wilkins! all your practice with BJs has really paid off. I was wondering if you could do some one on one BJ training with me sometime- maybe go over some technique and appropriate pacing, how to bounce hard out of the bottom, appropriate hand motion for maximum reps etc.
155 BJs in 4 minutes- they should make you some kind of BJ movie star or something

Started on BxJumps..Went all out on it and got 150…
Happy with the score but I really should have got that another 4 reps…..
February 27th, 2010 on 1:33 pm
Whoa…looks like I need some snatch practice to repair my reputation.
401rx’d (but started with bj’s)
February 27th, 2010 on 1:59 pm
That is 210 when I lost count. Rx’d it too.

Tough WOD! I started with my weakness, Wall Balls, and knocked out 80. SDHP definitely wiped me out!
February 27th, 2010 on 4:00 pm
269, Rx’d. Pleased with this– I did Tabata FGB last June while I was in Foundations. I have no idea what my score was, but I know I scaled down a ton, and probably didn’t break 200. So not scaling and getting a reasonable score works for me.

Very glad the culgar for Canada choked away the 10th end. US medal lead remains.

AEP wod 3 bars of death 15 min cut off.
DL 310, Bench 205, Clean 155
2 DL into round 6, this was a bear!

AEP wod 3 bars of death 15 min cut off.
DL 290, Bench 190, Clean 145
round 6..everything complete but 2 cleans
Sadly, PCF didn’t represent today. Of the 30 or so participants, we all DNF (granted only 4 people completed the WOD under time)
so with that said…Bench Press…Bench Press…Bench Press. This killed us all from a strength and technique perspective. I probably spent 80% of my time there. Would love to see some more work on Bench Press with the other strength bias components.
February 27th, 2010 on 5:04 pm
For anyone of size, 3 Bars of Death is just brutal. A 15 min cap is insanely low.
February 27th, 2010 on 5:18 pm
AP wod 3 bars of death 15 min cut off
DL 290, bench 190, clean 145
on round 7, finished DL and completed 2 bench presses
I agree with my twin, bench press crushed all of us today and easily spent 90% of my time there. However, for me it wasn’t so much as technique but lack of strength doing my body weight. 235 is my max bench press and trying to do 190 55 times is ridiculous. Getting to the tipping point of the reps of 5 is key to this WoD.
definitely a brutal and humbling WoD. I felt great with my cleans and DL i had to scale down when my form started going to hell.
Thanks to Rich, Gabe, Paul and Vaughn for staying with me and keeping me moving and making sure that my form was staying crisp and that i wouldn’t hurt myself with heavy DLs. I also still had an extra 5 lbs of meat from Fogo de Chao sitting in my stomach so I probably should have been at the 185 weight range and not 192.

AEP WoD 3 bars of death with 15 min cap
DL 255, Bench 170, Clean 130
Round 6…3 bench presses in
Completely agree with rich…bench press owned us.
Also, the crew for Outlaw crossfit are monsters…

Missed one full round of wall balls and one full round of rowing due to logistics confusion.

great to be back!!
nice pic mandy!
February 27th, 2010 on 6:19 pm
Would have been nice to try out 3 bars of death aka Linda, but its a lot of strength bias regardless of size. Especially in a 15 min time cap. Good job PCF team!
February 27th, 2010 on 7:22 pm
Penguin is entirely right. Crossfit Outlaw has something in the water that transforms them into monsters

Should have focused on form instead of trying to make it to the end. A much lower rep count with good form would have been better.
