Wow, I actually could have done this one RX – and it’s my namesake too! Enjoy the snow folks. I am staying off the roads and in for the duration. :)

  2. Siddharth - PCF

Yes, we will be open. FYI, Whole Foods is opening at 1000 and Starbucks is already open.

  3. sophie

I agree with christy. Maybe we can repeat tomorrow!

  4. Kelly

It’d be a long walk from Pentagon City. Boo.

  5. Mary J

Too early in the storm to dig the car out from Bethesda for the trip. I think today’s wod will include a snow shovel, a vacuum, and lots of cleaning supplies. The in-laws descend on Wednesday.

  6. Ana Isabel

I can’t even get out of my drive way :-(

  7. Erin B.

Too far for me to walk :( Enjoy the snow everyone.

  8. DF Pete

1 round of driveway/walkway shoveling for time! Rx’d.

Round 2 should be in another 3 hours!

Envy those of you who can walk to the box. All ladies are invited over tonight to Pete’s new place (Rich, of course that includes you!)

13:35 w/ 95# deadlifts and I stepped up and down on the BJs. I’m am respiratorily compromised after my cold this week. The rowing and the BJs just about did me in. I’m looking forward to doing this someday when I’m at 100%.

But it was worth walking barefoot in the snow for ten miles, uphill both ways. Or, more accurately, bundling up and hopping on the Metro.

  10. Aaron - PCF

You know, it snows in most of this country, including here, every year. People should learn to drive in the snow.

That said, everyone staying home is in good company. The air port is shut down and our flight to seattle cancelled. I love this wod, which I wasn’t going to get to do because of travel. Now I can’t do it because it would be my 6th day on and because we were up until 2am with the air lines. Lets hope we get out tomorrow.

It doesn’t snow enough here for people to get used to driving in it. I woke up this morning to the sound of a truck slamming on the gas, finally gaining traction, and squealing forward…repeat ad nauseam. Eager to see the idiot in the alleyway, I peered over my balcony to see it was THE DUDE CLEARING THE SNOW from the alley! So, he apparently #1 didn’t have snow tires #2 didn’t have 4WD (makes no sense if you’re removing snow) #3 if he didn’t have 4WD, didn’t weigh down the back of his truck and #4 had no clue how to drive in this stuff.

Back home, this is considered a light dusting. Schools don’t close until the snow is over top of the school bus. GO SNOWBELT!

    Aaron, welcome back.

what did I tell you yesterday…

  13. Rich S.

8:52 as rx’d with 225# (to adjust for all the holiday cookies)

Pete – thanks for the invite. I have a pretty dress for the occasion.

  14. Brad G

    12:57 with 115#

forgot my time on the walk home-

Rich S- email me some literature on Paleo- michael underscore homburg at yahoo dot com. Brian PCF was right this morning when he said “You don’t want to rush into Paleo,” referencing the fact that I have been at pcf for almost 1.5 years and still haven’t altered my diet in any way. I might suck it up just do it.

I am a little concerned that mardi gras falls right after the 30 day trial.

10:08, felt a little tired and worn out today.

I love driving by people who are going 15 on the road and I’m driving the speed limit. People in this area think its like the apocalypse or something.

    Pete,

Is that invitation open to The Situation’s Twin?

  17. DF Pete

    Jason L,

Yes, its open to all ladies and men I find very feminine and attractive, so you are invited.

  18. jkett

For those of you who are inexperienced driving in snow, make sure you walk to the nearest store for your milk and bread…

  19. Erin B.

Aaron and Erika- hope you make it out – tomorrow maybe?

As for driving in this. I don’t mind it too much but the other crazy drivers scare me!!

  20. Janel B

I got a workout just getting to the box this morning! Walked uphill from Rhodes Street. And then this WOD was a little more painful than I was expecting. I don’t even remember what my time was, but used 115 for the deadlifts.

If it really snows two feet, maybe we’ll get a snow day on Monday!

  21. Ken V.

Aaron, hope you make it out to Seattle soon. Have a couple of Fat Tires and Mirror Ponds for me!

  22. Dan K

    More difficult than I anticipated.

13:15, with 155 lbs deadlifts. Probably could have done my bodyweight (165).

  23. Brian PCF

    11:59 at 210.

Nice to see Pat K. back in action, nice work to the 9 am crew.

  24. Kristine Sawyer

    My WOD today:
    AMRAP in 12 hours:
Shovel 25 yards of sidewalk & driveway
    Bake one batch Christmas Cookies
    Push two kids down hill

Probably the only WOD I can consistantly RX!

  25. Dave

6 straight days on Aaron? What happened to leading by example and taking necessary rest days? I think Dan will have to hear about this…

  26. Zack

Is the affiliate exchange still on for tomorrow?

  27. ozzy

Didn’t make it in due to over sleeping a bit and knowing that at 10 mph i wouldn’t make it to any WOD in time. Instead i did the shovel the car and walkway out, ran as fast as I could around the block in knee deep snow. Then had to shovel out another spot since mine was stolen. Why does no one down here understand the lawn chair?

  28. Kyle

    12:47 RX’d at 165#

  29. Right Half of Guch

    rest day for me

  30. DF Pete

Shovel drive way/walkway round 2 as Rx’d. It was like I dind’t even do anything the first time around. So much snow.

Prob will not be there tomorrow for the fun! I odn’t mind driving too much…but everyone else freaks out way too much!

  31. Sophie

If we didn’t have a snow day until the buses were buried, then I would never have a snow day.

Here’s to Virginians NOT ever learning how to deal with snow. Snow days rule!

  32. Vaughn

what’s a little snow? BTW, I love my Jeep!!! I think this was one of the funnest drives in I have had. Did the wod in 12 something, rx’d at 225, that is more than my weight, but I have been feeling good with high rep DL’s lately.

  33. Erika - PCF

Since we had 5 days on in anticipation of flying out today to Seattle, today was a “rest day” that consisted of shoveling (real, not virtual) the walk so we could actually get out of the house, and walking down the block (snow literally up to my knees) to get a bite to eat and a drink. Allegedly supposed to fly out tomorrow…we’ll see. Guch, I blame you for jinxing us last night when you said we wouldnt make it out today.

  34. Right Half of Guch

Sorry Erika but guess what; Wyatt Earp was on tv today.

  35. Erika - PCF

Guch! I know….we saw (when we were avoiding shoveling the snow on our front walk). I thought of our discussion last night.

  36. Kate L

16:35 with DL’s starting at 165# and quickly going down to 135# (neither of which is my bodyweight, unless this is the late 90s). I was more than disappointed in this effort, although I sort of made up for it with my ninja snow driving skills in my 2door, non-4WD car.

  37. Laura G

    15 something, 115# DLs
So happy to live so close
And thank you Drea and Siddarth for some good company this afternoon!

  38. Jen N in FL

    11:45 RX, 150#
