Well, well, would ya look at that!
Today’s WOD looks fun, but I’m going to have to pass on this one so that I might fully appreciate the Saturday morning session.

Dan - I know you just posted this to p*** me off. Government mandated health goals combined with the reporters ridiculous assumption that semi-starvation combined with exercise will lead to weight loss.
Too bad caloric deficit doesn’t work (I question the data here on Mr. Okuda). Taubes clearly shows that w/o fail studies of semi-starvation are not sustainable and that sooner or later dieters will break the diet.
The idea that processed noodles vice meat and walking to work are the contributing factor for this type of weight loss is utterly ridiculous - SHOW ME THE DATA!!! It’s been shown again and again that carbohydrates drive insulin which drives fat. Want to cut fat, cut carbohydrates.

Taubes stuff aside (which I agree with) - I think this is an interesting conversation that America is going to have to have as we consider National Health Care . . .
As a girl I used to date always said, the ‘Japanese don’t —- around . . . “
